A Taste of Italy in the Panhandle
By Joseph Kemp

Few places offer the balance between delicious food, reasonable prices, quiet atmosphere and great wine quite like Olive Garden does. Whether you’re planning on a family dining experience, a romantic dinner for two or just a quiet lunch or dinner, Olive Garden offers the perfect venue, price and food.

The soft Italian music, or the eternally cool Sinatra and Dean Martin tunes of years gone by, set the tone for a classy evening. Dress is casual but you do feel as if you are in a quality four-star restaurant as soon as you enter. The hostess will quickly seat you and the seating is extra comfortable to help encourage your appetite.

When you are seated, you get the opportunity to sample the wine of the night and to decide if you would like soup or salad. Both are served in hearty portions along with breadsticks, and the salad is always scrumptious.

The waitress is always knowledgeable about which wine goes best with which meal. You have a myriad of wines to choose from, and you can buy it by the glass or the entire bottle.

Olive Garden also serves one of the best sangrias anywhere. You don’t just get a small glass either – they bring it in a pitcher, so be prepared to enjoy a delicious treat.

Olive Garden offers a premier Italian dining experience on the Emerald Coast. The menu truly runs the gamut of classic Italian dishes served to perfection. From stuffed pastas and fish to chicken and beef based dishes, they have something for everyone.

Diners do not leave Olive Garden hungry. The appetizers are meals themselves, but the true prize does not arrive until the entrees are delivered. Be sure to bring your appetite – meals are served in very large portions to satisfy even the biggest appetite.

Try the Tour of Italy! It offers a sample of three classic Italian meals. You have fettuccini Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, and homemade baked lasagna all in one sitting. Don’t forget to order the cheese stuffed ravioli or the five cheese ziti al forno. All are truly delicious, and best of all, you’ll get your money’s worth.

Don’t be afraid to try something new either. That’s just a fraction of what Olive Garden has to offer and soon you will find your favorite dish.

If you want a desert, they offer a nice selection there as well. Their tiramisu is out of this world. If you are not familiar with that particular treat it is a traditional Italian dessert and it is a layer of custard set atop espresso soaked ladyfingers.

When the bill arrives, you are brought a tasty chocolate mint to remember Olive Garden.

So, the next time you plan a romantic rendezvous, family outing or just want a good quality meal, think of the Olive Garden. You will be glad you did!
